Getting Started!

ADVICE Author: OpenHouse Team

Whether you are a first-time homebuyer or a veteran, buying a home is a big investment. When you start your search for Real Estate there a few valuable things to do when you get started.

1. Make a list of all the things you want in a home. For example, how many bedrooms do you want. Do you need a fenced yard? Are you looking for an apartment or a house? Once you have created a list you will be able to easily check off items of your list when you are viewing homes. The list will help narrow your search and get you closer to your perfect place.

2. Contact a Realtor. Realtors make your life a lot easier during a home search. They have access to recent sold prices and home valuations in an area. They will make sure you get your home for the price it is worth.

3. Contact a Mortgage Broker about getting a pre-approved mortgage. Having a pre-approved mortgage will ensure that you can afford the homes you are looking for and will make closing the deal that much easier.
